Hooray Sock Co. is committed to being good. That means being focused on a greater goal than merely being a big player in the sock game. It means being committed to giving back to our communities and by making decisions that lessen the impact our business has on the environment.
We recognize that being good isn't something that happens overnight and must be more than a marketing campaign. It's an ongoing practice that will take daily effort and we're getting started today with two new initiatives.
For people experiencing homelessness, clean, well-made socks are a much-needed item that is often in short supply. In an effort to alleviate some of this need, we are introducing our One-for-One program. For each pair of Hooray Socks sold (online or in-store), we will donate a pair to Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco (ECS) whose mission it is to help homeless and very low-income people every day and every night obtain the housing, jobs, shelter, and essential services each person needs to prevent and end homelessness.
No doubt you've heard of the growing problem of plastics in the environment, especially plastics polluting the oceans and waterways. To do our part in fighting this mess, we are committing to ending our use of plastics in 2018.
These are big challenges to be sure. But we know it'll be worth it and it'll be good.
